My Holiday

My teacher thinks I’m reading but really i'm

in the giant cafe with the “screaming barfies” drinking my burning hot chocolate , up Mount Ruapehu.

My teacher thinks I’m writing but really i'm... trying on my thing 1 blue fizzy wig in the burning sun outside with my cousin, Kate, ready for Halloween.

My teacher thinks i’m listening but really i'm... tie dying my tea towel the most magical pink and purple colours.

My W.I.T

The Invertebrate in our Environment

   Stop bugging me

I like my wit . Our task was to create a child friendly invertebrate resource . we had to make frankley school students recognise and categorise frankley bush invertebrates , based on their physical features and adaptation . first we had to chose a target audiences and we chose  Kahikatea . we had to interview some students about invertebrate and what they knew about them .

Here are some questions

1.       How often does your class read books individually? They like to read lots by themself on lin mostly . but the girls read reel books

2.   How does  your class find out information about things they don’t know?
Like using epic to read books so they can find info

3.how much information does your class know about invertebrates already?
Not much they don’t know much so that is a good sight
4.  Do students like reading non-fiction (books that are true) books in your class?
Boys read non-fiction more they girls

After that it was time to chose a resource and my group chose a book on book creator and a hardcover book . my group has been working very  to finish .
I think my group did very good at our task because how much information we found out about invertebrates that we did not know . here are some question we asked them after we made our resource

Have you learn more about invertebrate yes i have learn lots more

Would you rather have a hard cover book or a book online hard cover book because you can’t take a online book in the bush

Do you like the page setup yes but maybe next time you could do it in alpha order

Why do you like the hard cover book because you can take a hardcover book outside or in the bush
Harrison ask what did you make our book with ? book creator

Do you like our resource or would you rather have a different resource I like you resource but I would rather have a hardcover book .

I love Cross Country!

I could feel Butterflies getting BIGGER & BIGGER in my tummy . I was thinking  in my head in about 7 or 8 seconds I’ll be running . And I was right . “Ready girls ’’ said mr Ritai “AND GO ’’  he shouted .  We were off up through the farm. Through  the path and up the hill all the boys on the sides would yell like “go” and “come on Sylvia” . It was a challenge for me because everybody was following me and I was at coming first .  about  2 minutes later  I was coming round close to the hall .I was still leading but georgia was right behind me . I just had just about 134 metres to go and I would have won the cross country and guess what I did it .I won the cross country. FOR our cross country training our choice was we could run up the hill and back down or we could do a little circuit around the school but most days I did the hill circuit . I chose  the hill circuit because I like to challenge myself  . My most Enjoyable part was coming first and doing my best . As I was running I felt like I could run forever and ever but when  I stopped I just sat down on the muddy grass  until my Dad came over and hi-five me and then pulled me up off the ground . I think cross country was really fun & guess what i came  first and i am still saying that cross country in not about winning it’s about having fun. Screenshot 2017-09-11 at 10.13.35 AM.png

My Limerick

This is my limerick . The hardest thing about making my limerick was how you had to make line 1, 2 , and 5 rhyme and 3 , 4 rhyme.

Have you ever made a limerick?

There once was a cat who was fat
That cat, walked on a flat mat
               He went outside
           and climbed a slide
Then the cat found a lovely old hat

Are Those Spiders???

If you don’t like daddy long legs then I don't think you should read this. Here is a fun fact . Did you know that daddy long legs are not even Spiders? They are truly a part of the arachnid family.

Appearance
Daddy long legs are a yellowish colour  with little black dots on their body.  They are known for their long legs.  One of their body parts is an upper circle shape. This is their back which is connected to the head.

       Breeding
Daddy long legs lay eggs. It takes Daddy long legs eggs about a year for them to hatch. Every time a female daddy long legs lays eggs it can lay over 200 eggs. Daddy long legs  stay with their eggs until the eggs hatch . Did you know when the eggs hatch the mother spider dies?!!! .

Habitat
Daddy long legs eat lots of insects and bugs. Daddy long legs eat caterpillars, flies, beetles, mites, small slugs and lots more.   When  predators are close they will climb to get away from the predator (another type of bug or spider that preys on daddy long legs).
Daddy long legs are creepy crawly insects  and they are a part  of our Frankley School bush environment.
